During the second world war, many inhabitants of Nieuwlande took it upon themselves to protect the hiding people, often risking their own lives. An important task of the museum is to pass along the stories to young people, and to explain the dilemmas caused by war. To keep the stories of the village alive, and to keep honouring the villagers in the future too, we need these youngsters to know.

We try to involve youths as actively as possible in the museum, and with the collection of information the first group of youth ambassadors has started to interview an elderly hider.

Youth ambassadors: Thom, Manon, Danjella, Wesley, and Finn received a certificate as proof of their contribution to the museum.
